01 — OVERVIEW

What is this project?

A premium QSR restaurant digital storefront designed to capture the authentic crunch and sizzle of hand-battered fried chicken. Combining kinetic typography, photorealistic food depth, interactive portion & spice level customizer modals, client-side cart management, and a structured WhatsApp order dispatch engine.

02 — THE PROBLEM

What needed to be solved?

Fast-casual chicken restaurants struggle with generic third-party delivery platforms taking 30% commissions while presenting uninspiring, sterile menus that fail to communicate culinary quality.

03 — THE GOAL

What was the intended outcome?

Engineer an immersive, high-conversion direct-to-consumer digital storefront that makes food look irresistible, allows detailed portion and spice customization, and funnels orders directly into the kitchen with zero platform commissions.

04 — MY ROLE • 05 — WHAT I BUILT

Execution & Implementation

MY ROLE: UI/UX Designer + Full-Stack Web Developer

Custom culinary design system — bold crimson (#B51F24), warm golden amber (#F5B324), rich cream (#FFF8EE), and dark charcoal (#141012).

Cinematic hero section with line-by-line reveal typography, live delivery tracking badges, and photorealistic bucket visual.

Scroll-linked kinetic signature showcase section ('CRISPY. JUICY. HOT.') with depth hover cards.

Categorized interactive menu filter spanning Chef Signatures, Bone-In Chicken, Brioche Burgers, Loaded Waffle Fries, Craft Drinks, and Warm Churros.

Customization modal for selecting portion sizes, heat/spice level, accompanying sides, dipping sauces, and custom kitchen notes.

Client-side Cart Drawer with free delivery progress meter, item stepper, price breakdown, and structured WhatsApp order generator.

06 — HOW IT WORKS

System & Process Workflow

01

Visual Exploration

Customer explores mouth-watering categorized dishes with real-time calorie counts and spice ratings.

02

Portion Customization

Customer configures portion counts, spice heat level, dipping sauces, and drinks with dynamic price calculation.

03

Bag Management

Slide-out cart drawer tracks subtotal against free delivery thresholds and provides quantity steppers.

04

Direct Kitchen Dispatch

Single tap compiles an itemized order receipt with delivery address and opens WhatsApp for instant kitchen confirmation.

07 — KEY DESIGN DECISIONS

Why I Built It This Way

Specific choices made during the project — and the reasoning behind each.

01

Photorealistic Food Over Flat Graphics

Rendered high-resolution, appetizing food photography for every single menu item.

WHY →

In food e-commerce, sensory visual appeal directly drives conversion. Abstract vector food illustrations fail to create appetite stimulation.

02

Zero-Commission WhatsApp Checkout

Generated structured, pre-formatted order receipts sent via WhatsApp rather than standard credit card processing.

WHY →

Local food delivery operates predominantly on cash on delivery and direct restaurant communication. Eliminating payment gateways saves processing fees and setup delays.

03

Persistent Client-Side Cart

Stored active cart state in localStorage with customization signature hashing.

WHY →

Allows customers to browse multi-category menus without losing custom spice and sauce selections across page refreshes.
